2019 GZL Mock Draft (1-10)
By Keith Van Wagner
Special to gzl-football.com

The mocks are coming in now fast and furious. Here's mine! Of course half these picks will be traded, but it's fun to speculate. A few of these surprised even myself as I saw a couple studs fall, but that's the magic of the draft.

1.1 – CB Angel Rosario
Interesting that this pick is still up in the air. It’s 50/50 in my mind whether AF takes the 6’5” wideout or the 6’5” CB. I went with the pass defender as finding one that is 6’5” is hard to do. Except on the Bucs where now they are looking at having two.

1.2 - OT La'el Collins
Collins is impressive, but not as much of a specimen as some other recent top OL picks. Looking at the Dolphins roster, it’s easy to see why grabbing a lineman ready from Day 1 makes sense. Still, Collins is not the second best player available, making this something of a reach.

1.3 - WR Devin Funchess
Hard to complain about Funchess falling to you at 1.3. This is assuming of course AF doesn’t take him first overall. Even still, a case could be made that there’s another 6’5” WR worthy of this pick. Either way, The Packers get richer.

1.4 - CB Hunter Hill
This is a deep CB class, and Hunter Hill is marginally the second best cover guy on the board. The Vikings have been projected going for a HB here, but this makes more sense.

1.5 – DE Owa Odighizuwa
The Bears could go in a couple of different directions here. With the Top 2 CBs off the board, MLB Brick Baylor looks tempting, but Chicago needs a pass rush.

1.6 CB Buford McKay
Cubby Williams is one option here as Mario Fannin is getting long in the tooth. Then again, he’s averaged over 5 yards a carry the last few seasons and doesn’t seem to be running out of gas. Atlanta does need to upgrade its secondary, and McKay fits the bill.

1.7 – CB Emerson DuPree
There are a couple of good O-Lineman still available that would be worthy picks here. I could see OL Sambrailo getting tabbed for this slot. But the Eagles have another first rounder and may be able to get a second tier blocker later in the frame. So I have them taking a CB here.

1.8 – HB Cubby Williams
Indy needs a HB and there’s only one really good one available. This is a perfect match!

1.9 - WR Dorial Green-Beckham
Arizona has all kinds of needs – WR, DE, OT, CB, MLB. Of these, Wide Receiver has the least need, but it’s hard to leave a guy like DGB on the board in a big steal of the draft. MLB Brick Baylor also makes sense, but DGB is an immense talent that can’t be ignored.

1.10 – MLB Brick Baylor
Cleveland has so many needs, it’s hard to project where they will go. They could snag Sambrailo here, or perhaps WR Kevin White. But Baylor is a rare talent who will make an immediate impact.
