Offensive Player of the Week
QB Ben Roethlisberger
19 of 27 (70.37% | 388 Yards | 4 Touchdowns | 0 Interceptions | 152.4 QB Rating
I had Boston Mallett here after yet another great performance in a Browns victory, but Big Ben's stats just kept slapping me in the face. He and Mike Wallace tore apart the Bengals secondary, hooking up for 3 touchdowns on the day. Big Ben has his Steelers rolling under the new leadership of Ricky Lung and that roll will most certainly continue next week when they host the 49ers in their 4th consecutive home game to start the season.
Honorable Mention: HB Darren McFadden | WR Mike Wallace | QB Boston Mallett | QB Matt Schaub | WR Brad Edwards

Offensive Player of the Week
WR Julio Jones
11 Catches | 212 Yards (92 YAC) | 3 Touchdowns
Cardinals fans certainly enjoyed Julio Jones this past week when he torched the 49ers secondary for 3 scores and an average of nearly 20 yards a catch. Jones has been the go-to-guy for Christian Ponder, catching 4 of his 5 touchdown passes on the season. In a week of great performances, Jones' 3 touchdowns upstaged Calvin Johnson's 255 yard performance against the Chiefs. Jones gets the nod for player of the week since he helped his team to victory and has the Cardinals sitting at 2-1 atop the NFC West.
Honorable Mention: WR Calvin Johnson | HB Mario Fannin | QB Jay Cutler | QB Matt Cassell | QB Chad Henne

Defensive Player of the Week
CB Cortland Finnegan
2 Tackles | 3 Interceptions | 2 Deflections | 0 Catches Allowed
The douchebag lockdown corner himself, Finnegan was a menace for Eli Manningn all day in South Beach. Unfortunately Finnegan's performance wasn't quite good enough for the Titans to pull out the victory, but it's hard to argue against giving the award to a player that produces 3 turnovers. It's not his fault that the rest of his team couldn't pick it up with him. He may have to continue to play this great as the team is 1-2 and in an early hole within the AFC South.
Honorable Mention: CB Jonathan Joseph | LB Martin Butler | LB D'Qwell Jackson | CB Stanford Routt

Defensive Player of the Week
CB Xavier Rhodes
5 Tackles | 1 Fumble Recovery | 1 Interception | 2 Deflections | 3 Catches Allowed | 1 Touchdown
For the second week in a row, an award goes to one of the GZL's top rookies. Although he didn't lead his team to a victory, Rhodes shut down one half of the field and was responsible for two turnovers that kept the Rams with the high flying Buccaneers. Rhodes is quickly getting up to speed in the GZL and this was certainly a breakout game for the #3 overall pick in this year's draft.
Honorable Mention: LB Sean Lee | LB Jeremiah Joseph | CB DeAngelo Hall | LB Sean Porter | CB Aqib Talib

GZL Rookie of the Week
HB Bull Griggs
21 Carries | 197 Yards (9.38 YPC) | 2 Touchdowns
Philip Rivers had an off day, but the rookie halfback picked up the slack in sending the Saints to their first loss of the season while keeping the Jaguars undefeated and the league's top ranked team according to the Power Polls. Griggs is having a beastly season so far averaging more than 7 yards a carry and has found the endzone 4 times in 3 games. If he keeps this up, this reporter (and GM of the Patriots) will be quite upset that he passed on the beast out of UCLA.
Honorable Mention: DE/LB Dion Jordan | LB DeVonte Holloman | DL Star Lotulelei | WR Terrance Williams

General Manager of the Week
Justin Herr
The top rated team in the league is firing on all cylinders. After flirting with dealing QB Phil Rivers in the offseason and ending up keeping him, the Jaguars look the part of serious contender. The addition of Bull Griggs through the draft has helped balance out the offense and a matchup with the Colts in Week 4 could put the Jaguars in a good spot within the AFC East. Congratulations to Mr. Herr on a great start to the 2014 Season.
