GZL Rookie of the Year Tracker (Week 11)
By Keith Van Wagner
Special to gzl-football.com

We are almost to the three-quarter mark in the GZL and just as the playoff race is starting to shape up, so is the Rookie of the Year race. Itís been a wild one so far, and no clear cut winner has emerged. The last month of the season will likely be decisive.

After week 7 when we check in last, Matt Scott, the late-round QB of the Saints was leading the pack. Now, Scott is merely on the Pack. As in, Green Bay. Scott was traded last week and goes from leading Rookie of the Year contender, to benchwarmer. As Scott fades, first overall pick Kendall Irving has taken off, after sitting the first four weeks. His QB rating of 87.4 leads all rookies. Another rookie that has emerged in the past few weeks is Bronze Pittman, who has two 100+ yard games in a row and leads all rookies in rushing. Anthony Perez, the Jet WR has faded after his quick start. Perez has only 6 catches in his last 4 games and comes close to dropping out of the Top 10.

Please note that even if a team loses, I don't hold that against a player who has made exceptional efforts on the field. Lastly, this is meant for entertainment purposes only, so let's keep it civil, and if you don't like it, you are always welcome to make your own list.
